Learn the art of making handmade, natural soap using local farm and garden, fruits, vegetable, flowers and herbs.
Fawn will lead you through a 2-hour workshop where you will make soap from scratch and set it to “saponify”. Depending on the ingredients added, Soap takes anywhere from 10-24 hours to saponify – the scientific process of turning from ingredients to useable soap. After this time it can be cut and set to cure. Curing takes 6-8 weeks.
You will take home $45 worth of already cured soap products and reusable, cotton soap saver/scrubby bags. Should you wish to also purchase some of the soap you made, you can make arrangements with Fawn to have it shipped to you or for pick up when it’s ready.
You need: Long sleeved shirt, closed toed shoes for safety purposes as unsaponified lye is caustic. You will need to wear gloves, mask and goggles during the soapmaking workshop for safety (provided).
If you are booking the workshop with an overnight stay, you may be able to unmold and cut soap with Fawn the following day.
Cost is per person. Group discount offered with 6 or more guests. Max 8 guests per workshop.
This workshop is designed for adults and responsible children able to follow all directions and work safely over the age of 12.
Cost/person - $175 including $45 worth of product.
